The architects responsible for this ambitious new medical development wanted to get away from the rather clinical, cold feel often associated with hospitals.
Our brief was to produce a graphics installation of around 50 pieces throughout the public areas of the building. The images would brighten up corridors and open areas, and also provide relaxing and reassuring imagery for staff, patients and relatives.
After a full site inspection of the nearly finished building, we identified areas where the use of images would be put to maximum effect and then proposed a mixture of imagery, sourced from our extensive image libraries.
The pictures were juxtaposed to give the viewer an interesting composition without losing the calming effects of the high quality natural images.
We were also asked to produce graphic panels for the refreshment concessions within the building - and again the same production techniques were used to allow for changing commercial needs as well as for cleanliness.
Our client was so pleased with the result, that they asked us to produce directional signage for the health centre. This was designed with a modern clean look which used an easy to understand colour coding system, as well as more traditional imagery. The end result was pleasing to the eye, but also very easy to use and follow. The panels are designed to be easily changeable so that the centre's changing needs can be addressed quickly and economically.
